PRIVACY

Sequence℠ does not store data on behalf of health care providers, and is therefore not regulated by the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), a federal law that establishes data confidentiality standards for patient health information.

Although Sequence℠ is not covered by HIPAA, HB NEXT is committed to user privacy and enforces data security policies and measures to ensure that users control access to their information. HB NEXT uses software, hardware, and strict policies to keep user’s health information safe and private. The health information users store on Sequence℠ is protected by state-of-the-art technologies, including Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption, firewalls, alarms, and other technology. HB NEXT has extensive backup systems in place to protect the integrity of this information. Sequence℠ servers are protected by strong physical security, including pass codes, locks, and security personnel.

There is no advertising in Sequence℠. HB NEXT does not sell health information, does not share it unless a registered user explicitly authorizes it, or in the limited circumstances described in the privacy policy. Personal medical records are stored in secure accounts that cannot be accessed by anyone without express authorization. Users control who can access personal health information. By default, only the user can view and edit information.

Users can completely delete information at any time. Deletion is effective immediately, and purged from the account. Routine automated backup copies of deleted information may survive for a short time in the course of ordinary and customary backup, but will shortly be deleted. Since deleted data will not be restored, users may want to print information before deleting it.

Procedural safeguards are also in place to secure the health information users store with us. Within Sequence℠, only the people who are operating and improving Sequence℠ have access to user information, and they are bound by strict policies to not disclose this information to others, either within Sequence℠ or to the outside world.
